Stewardship Workshop: The SBCLT Homeownership Pathway

August 20 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Free
  • Saturday, August 20, 2026
  • 6:00-7:30PM
  • Virtual — RSVP to receive Zoom link

At this free community workshop for potential homeowners, you’ll learn about the SBCLT homeownership path. Purchasing into a community land trust is different from a traditional homebuying process, and this workshop clarifies the unique differentiators and benefits of purchasing a SBCLT home. Together, we’ll learn about the SBCLT application process, ground lease vs. traditional ownership, and what housing “stewardship” means at SBCLT. (Hint: Stewardship means that SBCLT will support your homeownership journey every step of the way and beyond!)

We’ll be joined by special guest Chloe Williams, Director of Housing Counseling from the Druid Heights Community Development Corporation.

This workshop is part of a six-part monthly stewardship series offered by SBCLT. Learn more and RSVP to other events below:

South Baltimore Community Land Trust creates development without displacement through renovations of vacant homes and construction of new homes on vacant land. All homes created and sold by SBCLT will remain permanently affordable, thereby creating opportunity for generations to come. Our vision is for healthy, clean, stable neighborhoods for all in South Baltimore, with new infrastructure that regenerates our planet and local economies.

Housing “stewardship” at SBCLT means we’re with you every step of the way. We are committed to supporting first-time homeowners every step of the way along our homebuying process and beyond. Our goal is to cultivate a web of professional support for our first-time homebuyers, from matching interested homebuyers with a values-aligned partner realtors within SBCLT’s network, to developing community leaders invested in neighborhood success, to referring homeowners to home repair vendors who share our vision for a zero waste future.
